for anyone who plans to build this i would suggest using aluminum foil TAPE to cover it (not foil itself) because it will reflect some of the light off the tank and not interfere with the current temp of the water. Also, fish do need light to survive. How much i dont know but they do need it.

how offten do you put nutrients in the tank? Do you leave the pump on all the time, like an areo garden? how long from seed does it take for the seedlings to grow? If anyone knows let me know……I’m just new to this.

be sure to add wild gourds to your seed bank, fresh wild gourd leaves makes a perfect bug repellent for your plants, free instead of using pesticide that cost big dollars and are dangerous.
been using them for years,
hope you and your readers follow , plus use road ditches of low maintance roads for extra garden lands. herbs grow well and modern people won’t bother them as the only see stuff from walmart as food.

For all those still wondering, you can do a setup like this with fish. Most fish really don’t physically need light, however if you are going to cover the entire tank there is no need to put fish in the tank at all. If you leave the tank open you should install flour. lights above your plans to simulate the season. 18 hours during spring time, 12 towards fall seems to be pretty good. If you add fish and treat it as a fish tank, it will go through the nitrogen cycle, eliminating extra nutrients.

Hi I just got the seeds I bought from: bepreparednow. net They were only $44.99 with free shipping. It has 27 varieties of NON hybrid seeds and it is sealed in a Mylar Bag. It was the best deal I found on the Internet and the variety is great.

It takes about a good month before the nitrogen cycle will be complete. Afterward, treating it like a fish tank should help pretty darn well for the plants.

Like another user said, a reservoir below is another good way of doing it. Using a pond pump and timers to spray the plants every 15 minutes or however much they need to be watered. Lights on a timer too, makes everything much much easier and smooth.
